"Federal Budget Calculator" exercises are a tremendously effective tool in empowering citizen knowledge of government finances. While they are very helpful to understand the big picture, they lack policy specifics that lawmakers of both party's are proposing. In addition, they lack GDP growth or contraction estimates, and they also lack employment estimates that spending cuts and increases impact. Giving citizens access to such a tool, and promoting its use, would forever change our national debate. People could finally check the math themselves, halt dishonest debates, and thus intelligently petition their elected officials to find our country's financial solutions. A non-partisan group shall administer this online tool, and update the calculation options as new bills are introduced.
