Develop & enforce regulations & standards for the skydiving industry

Created by P.M. on January 01, 2013

Every year tens of thousands of Americans participate in tandem & solo recreational skydiving under the false belief that this is a regulated industry. Organizations such as the United States Parachute Association (USPA) present a public image of being a "self-regulating" watchdog organization which sets forth safety guidelines, but actually is nothing more than an advertising & lobbying organization. Skydive centers are free to ignore USPA basic safety rules with impunity. Similarly, what few FAA regulations that do exist are frequently & blatantly ignored without consequence.

De to the extreme danger involved, and the grossly incorrect perception of industry oversight, we the people ask the Obama Administration to develop & enforce meaningful regulation of this growing industry.
