The United States currently lacks a strong commuter rail network. This is due to our desire to build highways instead of diversifying our transportation modes. As gas and airplane ticket prices continue to rise, more and more people will begin to realize we lack a substantial second option. Currently High Speed Rail has been built and proved successful all across the globe. It's time to bring the U.S. back to the forefront of transportation technology. Not only will this provide thousands of jobs, reduce traffic, congestion and carbon emissions, it will improve our quality of life and give us transportation freedom.
