In 1943, some of the world's greatest minds gathered in a top secret, remote location northwest of Santa Fe to undertake a serious mission that would lead us out of World War II. It was in this remote location that history would be made with the development of the first atomic bomb.
Historically speaking, this was a major accomplishment that came with major responsibility. We need to develop a National Historic Site or National Monument here to preserve this history and educate people on not only the benefit of atomic energy, but the negative aspects of wielding this power.
History is just that, history. We can choose to learn from it or we are doomed to repeat it. Let's use this as an educational opportunity!
