Develop a National Service Program as a hands-on citizens initiative to work on national projects to benefit the USA.

Created by D.B. on January 09, 2013

Develop a National Service Program (NSP) as a hands-on citizens initiative to work on national projects meeting a wide range of issues that would benefit the common good of the USA. All projects would be domestic. President Kennedy challenged our nation when he stated, ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country. NSP would address that challenge and provide a much needed jobs program.
All US citizens between the age of 18-25, men and women, without deferment, would enroll and participate for a period of two years. This is not military service, but a citizenship requirement to provide national service and to gain the opportunity of building job skills and work with other citizens for the common good. Military service would fulfill the NSP requirement.
