Since the 1960s and up to the end of Reagan's tenure(the folding of the SDI), the United States has dabbled in space defense. I, and those who have signed this petition, believe the United States government should actively seek to establish a permanent military presence within the Solar system's vast regions, led by an amalgamated United States Space Force comprised of the various Space Command branches of our current services and the space logistics of STRATCOM.
Said space force will be responsible for protecting US military and commercial interests in space from potential exploitative countries, along with defense against asteroids, large space degree, and the occasional Wraith hive ship. Utilization of such stations and spacecraft are far more useful than a Death Star, after all.
