As it stands, there is no regulation as to how a drug company can price its drugs. Furthermore, there is no regulation as to how a drug company can alter its prices. This issue is not limited to the high-profile cases involving people such as Martin Shkreli, but it is prevalent across the entire industry.
We do not wish to see the erasure of free market practices. We do not wish to see a financial burden placed on the government in the form of subsidies. For an industry whose purpose is to help heal the sick, there must be a solution that allows for both revenue, and availability for all.
