Historically democracies have always been implemented as representative democracies, whereby one individual represents a constituency. The reasons for this are clear. Logistically a direct democracy has never been feasible. But in the age of the Internet, this is no longer so, as can be witnessed by this very website.
It is now time for Democracy 2.0. It is time to allow the people the True Voice they have been promised since the inception of our nation.
There are no longer any logistical barriers to the creation of a direct democracy. The people's petitions, garnering enough support, should go directly before congress to be developed into viable legislation. It need no longer be the job of congress to make law, but only to formulate it in accordance to the will of the people.
