Diagnose and treat Posttraumatic stress injury (PTSI) NOT Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for our nations Veterans

Created by J.A. on May 03, 2014

We petition the current administration to remove the word "disorder" from "Posttraumatic stress disorder" and replace it with "injury" for our military veterans.
Posttraumatic stress injury (PTSI) should encompass all diagnosis given in the military and VA hospitals for disturbing recurring flashbacks, avoidance or numbing of memories of events or periods of someone's life during a military career.
Removing the word "disorder" also removes the stigma associated with potentially seeking help and treatment. Former POTUS Bush (43) has sided with many experts and dropped the "Disorder" in order to assist Veterans that are seeking help.
The current President should sign an executive order effecting this change across the DOD and VA. Disability ratings should NOT be affected.
