There are many rural areas in the USA that have no digital infrastructure in place. Broadband internet, cable, and other vital services are not available to many Americans.
Most in rural areas have had to resort to outdated satellite-based options that offer smaller data limits at more expensive rates. Children cannot research school projects, and their parents cannot perform job searches, attend online classes, etc.
This Act would make it mandatory for the USA to a have a comprehensive digital infrastructure in place by 2026 - nation-wide broadband or zipstream coverage. It will also provide incentives for mobile carriers to expand their 4G LTE coverage into all areas of the USA.
Access to affordable high-speed internet (unlimited data) should be a right of all Americans.
