Despite the large number of gun deaths that occur in the US each year congress will do nothing to acknowledge the problem or discuss ways to solve it. The gun control lobby (NRA) prevents any discussion of this topic through their control of our representatives in the form of campaign contributions.
To help our government to acknowledge the problem the president should direct all federal facilities to permanently fly the US flag at half-staff in memory of gun violence victims until meaningful gun control legislation is in place.
