Direct all public schools to swap existing desks and chairs for new furniture of Kevlar or other bullet-proof material.

In the 50's and 60's, school children practiced Duck-and-Cover to survive surprise nuclear attack. Today, many primary schools have similar drills to condition children for attack by a gunman. At one school in Louisiana, kids are instructed to flip their chairs over and hide behind them. These chairs (and the desks) are primarily plastic. This would provide NO protection from an attacker, and gives children a false sense of security. The ONLY reasonable solution is to provide REAL protection with bullet-proof desks, tables and chairs. Guns don't kill children; plastic furniture kills children.
