direct appropriate and specific funding for School Resource Divisions within local law enforcement agencies.

Created by M.S. on December 18, 2012

In reflection and response to the tragedy that has occurred in Newtown, Connecticut, and to prevent future firearm violence in the United States, this petition urgently requests the allocation of appropriate funding to all state governments to specifically establish the creation of a School Resource Division in ALL local law enforcement agencies that have not already implemented this policy.

The School Resource Division will consist of law enforcement officers directly assigned to all elementary, middle/junior high, and high schools located within a local community. The number of law enforcement officers assigned to each school will depend on the size and population of each school.

The Division will be supervised/commanded directly by at least one senior staff representative.
