Direct the ATF to reverse its recent decision to discriminate against medical marajuana patients wanting to buy a gun.

Created by L.G. on October 08, 2011

In an open letter issued on Sept. 21, ATF Assistant Director of Enforcement Arthur Herbert said federal law prohibits unlawful users of controlled substances — including state certified medical marijuana patients — from possessing firearms or ammunition. He also said that it’s a crime to sell a gun to someone if the seller “has reasonable cause” to believe that the buyer uses illegal drugs.

This is an infringement on the Second Amendment rights of these individuals to defend themselves, and/or practice their hobby. Don't make criminals of law abiding citizens who happen to be cancer patients or suffering from something else. Does the ATF Director expect cancer patients to turn in firearms?

We implore the Obama Administration to get government policies caught up with medical evidence.
