In April of 2014, Comcast (who had purchased NBC a few years later) ended a 48-year-old network affiliation with WMGM-TV in Wildwood, New Jersey, in order to reduce competition with its own WCAU in Philadelphia, PA. (See: http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/local-tv/wmgm-losing-nbc-affiliati...)
By ending its affiliation with WMGM, Comcast forced the only news operation serving Southern New Jersey off the air, deprived the people of Southern New Jersey of a unique voice in media, and made the delivery of emergency information specific to the Jersey Shore more difficult. The move also cost 60 people at an independently-owned local business their jobs.
This kind of activity is what the Sherman Act is supposed to protect us from. Prosecute and break up Comcast.
