Direct that bodyguards of Government officials in New York be armed with pistols that hold no more than 7 rounds.

Created by G.F. on February 28, 2013

In a free society all men are created equal - the lives of the common people are as valuable as the lives of their rulers.

It is inappropriate for the bodyguards of government officials in New york to be equipped with fully automatic weapons containing high capacity magazines when the common people are limited to firearms that can hold only seven (7) rounds.

If seven rounds are sufficient to protect an ordinary person then they should be sufficient to protect a government official.

The alternative is to encourage a "two tier" system whereby government officials and their families are protected and the majority of the population are not.

Such a system would eventually have a corrosive effect on the cohesion of US society as has been seen in countries like Mexico and Brazil.
