President Obama is having great difficulty securing Republican legislator's support for putting people back to work and securing appropriate financial support for the President’s infrastruction programs. Getting Republican support for timely legislation passage in the House is virtually impossible. To break this bottleneck, the President should direct the Commerce Dept. to have qualified federal/contractor employees inspect/condem Interstate Hwy bridges in need of repair, say in the begining Ohio's 8th and WI 1st district thereby generating public interest and forcing congress to appropriate funds for their immediate repair.
This "Truman" type approach should generate immediate legislative support of the inconvenienced commuters to resolve the Republican childish approach to governance.
