Direct congress to create laws that address racial and economic inequality in our justice system.

Created by E.G. on February 12, 2014

We the people call on our elected officials to create laws that address socioeconomic inequality in our justice system by ensuring all men are treated equal under the law. High-profile cases such as those of Lindsay Lohan, Justin Bieber, and Ethan Couch, are self-evident examples of cases where the scales of justice were tipped, intentionally or unintentionally, to give preferential treatment to individuals due to their socioeconomic status in the world. Americans in lower socioeconomic status would likely have suffered much greater consequences for breaking the same laws. It is with this in mind that we ask Congress and our President to address this injustice and ensure "All men are created equal" also means all men will be treated equal under the law.
