Direct the Defense Finance and Accounting Service to provide restitution to 55,000 affected Military Retirees

Created by F.W. on June 15, 2013

Direct the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to follow the law (the Tower Amendment) and provide restitution to affected Military Retirees, and prevent Congress from revising the law so the Tower Amendment doesn’t apply to High-3 retirees. This action should be accomplished by Executive Order as Commander in Chief. Over 55,000 retirees have been getting less in retired pay than the law directs because DFAS has not been following the law and correctly applying a pay protection tool from 1975 called the “Tower Amendment.” Military members sacrifice a great deal serving this nation; we need to honor our commitment to our military retirees and pay them what they are owed.
