Please direct the Department of Education and any other related federal agencies to allow for the refinancing of federal and private student loans.
The system that finances education for millions of American students is broken. As you know, student debt is skyrocketing and the financial burdens held by students are so large. I know many people who graduate with $30,000, $50,000, $100,000+ student debt and, after months of desperately searching for a job, can only find a job that will pay $10-$15 per hour. It's hard to find the words for someone who has a student loan monthly bill of over $1,200 and such a small salary. It's a conversation I shouldn't have to have with my friends. America can do so much better than that.
Allow student debt to be refinanced to market rates, not 4-7%!
