As part of the EPA's Clean Power Plan to Fight Climate Change and Build the Clean Energy Economy, direct the Department of Energy and the Office of Nuclear Energy to immediately initiate the process of awarding pre-commissioning licenses for new Nuclear Power plants. The goal should be three awarded licenses per year for the next five years. This will develop growth in jobs and the economy, reduce our dependency on foreign oil, domestic coal, and help cut carbon pollution from existing power plants by the goal of 30 percent by the year 2030, helping to leave a safer, cleaner planet behind for future generations.
