Direct the Department of Justice to bring criminal charges against HSBC.

Created by C.M. on March 11, 2013

HSBC's criminal banking practices as well as financial regulatory violations have been well documented and publicized. Amazingly, our Department of Justice has concluded that this particular financial institution is simply 'to big to prosecute'. Instead a fine was levied against the bank, the amount of which constituted an estimated 5 weeks of HSBC's profits.

The DoJ's decision essentially creates a two-tiered system of justice within the United States. If you or the organization you work for are understood to be too critical to our economy, you are immune from criminal prosecution. Whether intended or not, this is the message delivered by Attorney General Holder in response to Sen. Grassley's question.

This petition is to reaffirm the principle of the Rule of Law.
