We call on President Obama to demonstrate the his administration is serious about enforcing existing gun laws by instructing the Justice Department to investigate if Mark Kelly should be prosecuted for perjury falsifying the answer to question 1 on BATFE Form 4473 regarding the identity of the actual intended owner of one Sig Sauer M400 rifle, an AR-15 clone which he attempted to purchase in the state of Arizona.
We note to the government that Mr. Kelly's stated intent not to be the actual owner of said firearms constitutes the very 'straw purchase' he had been campaigning against in the media thus demonstrating unusual contempt for existing law of which he had knowledge. We urge the President to act aggressively as a deterrent to others contemplating such illegal behavior.
