The word "judge" ends with an "e." The word "infringe" also ends with an "e." Yet, the word "judgment" drops the "e" while the word "infringement" retains the "e." It is very annoying to have to write the phrase "judgment for infringement" because of this disparity.
Because usage is the only way to change the spelling in the dictionary, petitioners request that the Obama Administration direct the Department of Justice to use the spelling "judgement" in all official documents and briefs. This spelling deserves to be legitimized.
