Under the current Equal Opportunity policy governing he Department of Defense, Race, Gender, national origin, color and religion are protected in the armed services. Sexual Orientation is not, and LGBT service members still face professional and sometimes violent discrimination in the military.
Mr President, please direct the leadership of the DoD to protect Sexual Orientation within the military and protect gay, lesbian and bisexual service members from discrimination and hostile work environments.
