Direct the EPA to conduct Environmental Impact Survey(EIS) for planned LNG Refineries at Port of Brownsville

Created by E.L. on October 17, 2015

Please help save the ecology of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Four Liquid Natural Gas Refineries are being discussed and permitted by FERC for energy exports abroad. The proposed Refineries will not only destroy wetlands previously leased to and managed by the National Wildlife Refuge System, they will form a physical barrier to threatened species and introduce light, noise, and sound pollution into the NWRS. We expect emission releases of benzene, toluene, and mercury to name a few. Many of these compounds are known carcinogens of doubtful benefit to our local wildlife and fisheries. We are requesting the EPA reassess the EIS performed by FERC as we feel it was inadequate and should be invalidated.
