Recent evidence has come to light showing how drastically communications between Netflix and its customers were slowed on Comcast and Verizon's networks precisely during the time when those companies were negotiating with Netflix for it to pay more to get improved access to their customers.
As John Oliver said, it was like a mob shakedown.
And a mob shakedown needs to be prosecuted under laws designed for preventing racketeering of this nature.
Not only do fines against Comcast and Verizon need to be imposed, but high-ranking executives need to be prosecuted for their criminal behavior.
