Initiate the process to amend the U.S. Constitution to provide for the direct election of the president, abolishing the Electoral College. In other words, the president would be elected by a plurality of the popular vote. This change would implement the "one person, one vote" democratic principle for presidential elections.
The current process negates the votes of voters who are not in the plurality in most states and disenfranchises minority party voters in states dominated by one political party. A Constitutional amendment requiring the direct election of the president would ensure that each citizen's vote counts equally.
