Direct the FAA to conclusively test airline vulnerability to RFI interference by electronic devices

Created by R.F. on January 03, 2012

If there is a vulnerability to airline communications from RFI interference from personal electronic devices (or any other source) then we need to understand exactly what that risk is and how it manifests itself on airline operations. If such a risk exists, then we have a current exposure to terrorists who will exploit this vulnerability to its fullest extent. If such a risk does not exist, then current FAA regulations in regard to the use of personal electronic devices is unreasonable and should be repealed.
The President needs to order the FAA to conduct thorough tests to determine if the use of personal electronic devices poses any risk to airline flight safety.
