The FCC's News Distortion Policy requires a complaint to be filed by someone who has first hand knowledge of the management decisions that chose to distort the news. This requirement establishes that the complainant be employed at the establishment being complained about, and therefore a whistleblower. The Whistleblower's legal protection laws do not cover policies, it must be a rule, regulation, or statute. Inorder to promote Jurnalistic ethics, and an educated public capable of making informed decisions, the whistleblower's protections must be extended to protect these complainants from reprisals from those whom seek to mislead us.
