direct the Federal Trade Commission to investigate Microsoft's increasingly aggressive Windows 10 Upgrade campaign

Created by K.S. on February 03, 2016

Since July 29, 2015, the Microsoft Corporation has been marketing Windows 10 as a free upgrade to users of Windows 7, 8, and 8.1. Over time this marketing has become increasingly aggressive. Upgrades performed by well-intended but unsuspecting consumers have led to uncountable thousands of hours of lost productivity and millions of dollars in lost revenue resulting from network disruptions and program compatibility issues. Many consumers have been forced to hire professional technicians at great expense to correct the issues or "roll back" the upgrade.

We ask the FTC to investigate Microsoft's practices and, at the very least, compel Microsoft to include a simple, direct, and permanent "No, Thank You," "Opt-Out," and "Don't Remind Me Again" option to the Windows 10 upgrade offer.
