Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and his administration must be charged with federal hate crimes concerning the water crisis in Flint. He appointed an "Emergency Manager" to take control of Flint, MI from elected officials. During his tenure the manager switched the city's water supply from the Detroit system to the Flint River, ignoring numerous official reports that the river is polluted. The Snyder Administration further downplayed evidence of lead poisoning in the city's children as a result. Snyder's lack of concern for the city's plight is staggering. It should be noted that the Black population by percentage of whole in Flint is 3 times higher than that of the state and 4 times higher than that of the nation. Race must be considered a factor in the Governor's crimes against this city.
