We, the undersigned, petition the President of the United States to direct NASA to return to the moon, set up a base, and then use that base to launch an expedition to explore Mars.
Our country is falling behind in math and science, due to fewer and fewer of our students becoming interested in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math courses. Kids taking STEM courses and later obtaining jobs in technology-related high-paying professions will allow Americans to maintain jobs and a higher standard of living. A goal of returning to the moon, something visible from every American child's doorstep, will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
