simply put theres a religious faction on here that is petitioning to "Direct the US Forest Service to move the devotional Jesus shrine from federal property atop Big Mountain (Montana)." While i have no problem with peoples choice in religion, this does violate separation of church and state as well as 1st amendment rights. Buy placing 1 religious icon and no others upon federal property it shows government preferential treatment to one religion over another, violating church and state. the solution is simple, there are only 2 ways the forestry service can respond without violating the law. A, they can say no or B they can say yes on the condition that equal sized shrines to all religions are placed along side it, this includes Islam, Hindu, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, atheism, etc.
