In these hard economic times it is discrimination for companies to be allowed to refuse employment based on credit reports. There are millions of Amercians searching for jobs who have been through, or are currently in the process, of foreclosure, short sales, etc. This process severely affects credit ratings. Companies should be hiring based on skill level, not credit scores.
