Disallow equine slaughter.

Equine meat in the United States may be making a comeback for human consumption purposes. Without the approval and inspection of the United States Department of Agriculture the outset of a slaughterhouse and its meat cannot begin. It has been stated that equine slaughter houses are currently pending approval. Plants could receive approval by April, which will result in the sordid slaughter of thousands of horses a week. Many of these horses were once the adored companion of many.
Animals will be under unpleasant conditions. Many horses are conscious during the process of skin, limb, and organ removal.
It's inhumane, and unnecessary to permit the slaughter of horses. Officials need to reconsider and discuss the pending approval of equine slaughter. Please click "Sign this Petition".
