Currently communities across the nation have not complied with state and federal laws to make their communities accessible. In other words they continue to discriminate against people with disabilities who wish to be active citizens in their communities. These renovations range from curb stops to government buildings. It is now more than 20 years since president George H.W. Bush signed the ADA into law, and is time that the communities are forced to comply.
This petition would disallow any federal grant app. to communities who have failed to bring their community into compliance, and in the place of those applications for funding, the Federal Government will set a timeline to make all communities accessible, and provide funds that they can apply for to comply.
