Disallow 'Gravity' from receiving Oscar nominations

Created by J.M. on January 13, 2014

The movie 'Gravity', directed by Alfonso Cuaron, was released this year to rave reviews. It was said to be the visual masterpiece of the year. After more than one viewing consumers will realize this movie is nothing more than some pretty shots (nothing mind blowing) and a terrible script. Our film industry prides itself on powerful story telling and with a script this cheesy and predictable this fine art is reduced to "cool" visuals. We the people can not allow this movie to generate more Oscar buzz as it will unfairly allow it receive more revenue. This movie hurts the independent film industry as it makes viewers expect large amounts of visual effects and nonsensical script writing. This is not all that is involved in the art of film making. Disallow oscar nominations - it's only right.
