Despite the fact that all citizens are required to obtain health insurance and can no longer be excluded due to pre-existing conditions, a large number of medical claims are being denied leaving the full burden of that expense on the insured despite the high cost of premiums.
Upwards of five percent of claims are being denied. These denials for coverage call into question the integrity of medical professionals claiming care was not "medically necessary." It is no coincedence these denied claims are commonly for some of the most expensive life saving treatments available.
Allowing businesses to decide what procedures are and are not covered is a clear and shocking conflict of interest. Let's allow doctors to be doctors by stopping insurance providers from deciding what care is needed.
