Disallow motorcycle-only roadblocks as a discriminatory and unconstitutional infringement on one’s right of free travel.

Created by T.W. on January 01, 2013

Highway roadblocks diverting only motorcyclists from roadways to conduct “safety checks” serve only to harass, intimidate and inconvenience motorcyclists. Further, motorcycle-only roadblocks of this nature are a discriminatory and unconstitutional infringement upon an individual’s right to travel without interference, and an abuse of discretionary power. In the current economic and environmental climate, to better promote motorcycles fitting into the long-term motoring population as practical, efficient alternatives to automobiles and trucks, professionals from local, state, federal and private agencies involved in the effort to reduce deaths and injuries related to traffic crashes, should redirect their combined efforts toward overall driver education of the presence of motorcyclists.
