Military installations are no place for registered sex offenders to reside, especially ones with crimes against minors. The first thing you will notice when driving through military housing is the large number of kids playing at the various parks and playgrounds. This is not an environment for sex offenders. Living on post is a privilege, not a right, & can be taken away for other minor offenses. That is why I was shocked to move on post & find not one but TWO sex offenders on my very street, one accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old! I further learned that allowing offenders to live on post can be left up to the privatized company handling housing or the commanders of the individual base. These kids' parents signed up to protect us - we should be protecting their children better!
