The statue in Glendale shouldn't be removed. We should remember the innocent victims of the war and colonization and how much it can make many people's lives miserable. Some of the women who became sex slaves even died because of the beatings and rapes. The statue is not for offending Japanese, but for reminding the people to never repeat the tragedy again.
The petition "Remove offensive state in Glendale, CA public park" is describing the statue as if it is promoting hatred towards Japan. Though the statue resembles a Korean girl, it represents all of the war victims around the world. Of course, this kind of statue is not a very pleasent artwork to look at, since it is about sex slaves and war. However, they are part of world history, and they should be remember to not be repeated.
