The United States Congress is a prime example of the corruption and ineptitude that plagues our great nation. Therefore, I propose that Congress be disbanded and the people of the United States be truly allowed to represent ourselves. The power to create new laws could be given to the president, with the general population voting on proposed laws every May and November; governors could take over some responsibilities as well. It would lessen the impact of partisan politics, as most citizens are loyal to their ideals, not their party. The same cannot be said of our congressmen, evidenced by the stunning failure of the legislature to prevent the sequestration. For the good of our nation Mr. President, I beseech you to disband Congress and end the corruption.
