This petition seeks to remove the Republican & Democrat parties from power in the United States of America by making it illegal for government officials and candidates to affiliate with those institutions. The two parties have in effect established a cartel capable of preventing anything but ceremonial 3rd party competition and are out of touch with the People on both issues and candidate choice.
We believe many voters make voting choices based on (or against) party affiliations. We believe removal of party systems will help voters focus on the stance of the candidates, rather than feeling forced to vote for a candidate they do not like out of fear of the "other party" being voted into office. We feel this would reduce the sharp division in the US and a better option than secession.
