disband the US Department of Education, thus giving states the right to provide education for all its residents

The US Department of Education does not know what is best for your child's education or future. Thus we peacefully petition for the US Department of Education to be disbanded, thus leaving the states in charge of education for all residents. This allows for less bureaucratic interference from people in Washington who have never taught a class a day in their lives. We need to educate students for the real world and help them develop skills that will allow for long term jobs and careers. The push for "math" and "science" education is outdated as it was first instituted during the 1950's at the height of the "Cold War" with the former Soviet Union. We need to allow for more creativity at the local level and better actual job training for our young people to be prepared for life.
