Disband the USPS to remove their monopoly on postal services, offering more competition which drives innovation.

Created by S.N. on April 15, 2014

The USPS is a prime example of a government institute gone bad. With no competition for mail services the USPS has no encouragement to drive towards innovation and provide better services for customers. Free markets are the reason this country has become so great and we are long past the days of needing a decree stating that the USPS will be the sole organization charged with mail delivery. UPS and FEDEX both provide faster and better customer experiences than the USPS currently provides. Either of which would be more than capable of absorbing the infrastructure and workload of the USPS while providing better customer experiences along the way. I am not suggesting we immediately shutdown the USPS but we should put some serious thought into moving the USPS under private ownership.
