"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
It is apparent that the signers of the petitions to secede from the Union have forgotten a vital part of what it means to be a citizen of the USA. Just because someone was elected that they did not vote for does not afford them the right to secede.
In fact, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Texas v. White (1869) that no state has the right to unilaterally secede, making all such petitions to secede moot, if not treasonous.
Please remove all secession petitions.
