DIscharge Student Loan Debt for Disabled on Medicare and SSDI

Created by K.P. on November 18, 2012

Discharge student loans for the disabled who are on Medicare and/or Medicaid, and Social Security Disability Insurance, and Social Security Insurance. There is a large population of disabled citizens, who are approaching or at default status on their current student loans. They are currently disabled, and will never return to work either full-time or even part-time due to physical and/or mental disabilities. Many have had their original student loans double or triple, and will never be able to repay them. As a result, many cannot rent or buy homes or vehicles in their name, and can be considered unqualified for housing assistance due to debt. This causes added and undue stress on many disabled, and can actually exasperate many of their symptoms - ie: loss of sleep, depression, & increase pain
