Police around the country conduct tens of thousands of home investigations and raids every year. Of these events, hundreds of family pets, mainly dogs are shot and killed. Many not posing a single threat to the officer.
We understand that certain animals are taught to be defensive of their owners and do pose a threat against police. But an animal should not have to suffer for the wrongs doings of the owner.
We the People want country wide reform to promote safer tactics and enforcement in these areas. Provide better threat assessment techniques and training for dealing with animals. As well as employing equipment such as spray's and sedatives to be used to neutralize pets without harm.
How many more of these beloved family members must die before we enact change?
