The Trans-Pacific Partnership is potentially the largest proposed free trade agreement in history. Despite it's significance, it's also extremely secretive. Members of Congress are not permitted to attend the negotiations nor are they permitted to review a draft agreement. Yet major corporations have been allowed to weigh-in on the negotiations.
Thus far there have been leaked details of the negotiations that, for all intents and purposes, spell potential disaster for the United States. These details include:
-Weakening of food safety standards, laws and regulations as well as food sovereignty
-The banning of the "Buy American" privilege/law
-More incentives to relocate domestic manufacturing overseas
-Forbidding bans against the trading of high risk assets and/or toxic derivatives
